Iphone 4 Radio
iPhone Apps for Radio Stations
The business of radio has been in some turmoil even before the economic downturn of 2008-2009. There’s a lot of consolidation, competition, and less advertising to go around. Add in satellite radio and internet radio to the mix with earthbound stations and the pie seems to be getting cut up into more pieces. The Radio industry will have to look to new technologies and innovation to get healthy again. iPhone applications are one of these new innovations to watch for.
Radio is moving in a new direction with streaming audio on iPhone apps. The mother of all radio iPhone apps would be Clear Channel’s “I Heart Radio” application, which feeds off of Clear Channel’s “I Heart Radio online streaming website of 750+ radio stations. Last count showed 150+ stations streaming via I Heart Radio on the iPhone. But streaming individual stations on a giant aggregator app like this can sometimes be slow with lengthy buffering times.
Another option is for a radio station, either land based or online or satellite to have its own dedicated iphone app. Why be one of hundreds or thousands of radio stations on someone else’s app when you can have your own custom Streaming Radio iPhone app with its own icon on your listener’s iPhone screen? Your radio station gets one step closer to your audience, and your listeners have direct icon access to your streaming broadcast! Add advertising to your Radio Station iPhone app for increased revenue and social networking features to build your listener community.
A recent count in the iTunes App Store showed over 40 radio stations of all kinds with their own iPhone apps for streaming their broadcasts. From large organizations like Public Radio to smaller niche online stations like Classical Philippines Radio, streaming broadcasts via iPhone apps.
The cost to develop a streaming radio app is very reasonable if the station already has an MP3 or other compatible stream. A basic streaming radio app can cost as low as 00.00 with optional upgraded features possible, or the app can be upgraded at a later date. The initial development cost can be offset by adding advertising, sponsorships, selling playlist music through iTunes, and more.
Will iPhone applications turn the radio industry around? Not by themselves, but this new technology should be seriously considered by any radio station that’s seeking to position themselves for the new era of broadcasting.

What do you think will be different about the iPad 2?
I think there will be:
SD card slot
front and back facing camera
faster processor, possibly dual core
higher resolution screen
possibly a larger hard drive
http://rumorspark.blogspot.com/ for the new iPad 2 rumors and so much more news
Would getting the new ipad 2 be worth it?
id have to save up my allowance for 6 1/4 weeks to get it. word processor any good?
I have a laptop but its a bit slow lol does anyone know about the word processor
Is there any way to get a music library on an ipad?
Thining about getting the iPad 2. I know they made iMovie, GarageBand is coming, Cameras, dual-core processor, slimmer, and lighter, BUT can you in any way, shape, or form, have your own iPad library you can manage from the iPad? I really want to get one. Should I?
should I upgrade to the Ipad 2 when it comes out?
I’m pretty sure the Ipad 2′s new processor will only be useful for games, 3D design, video editing. All in all, it’s stuff that I wouldn’t want to use. I already have a Mac Book Pro that is more than capable. So my question is, why would I want to upgrade to the new Ipad if I don’t really need all the power? Are these light apps that I use going to evolve and require more speed (Notes Plus, Pages, Keynote)? Or is there some other feature that might make me want to buy it?
BTW, I hate video calls so I don’t care about the front camera either.
if you think that you need it then go ahead and buy it especially if you need internet on the go

Netbook vs. the new iPad 2?
Hi there. I’m a huge Apple fan, but I have some friends who have said that getting a netbook would be a much greater choice then spending near 600$ on an iPad (with accessories).
Currently I’m aware of there being netbooks priced from $200 to $400. The problem is weather or not it would be genuinely better… Meaning, is it possible to get a netbook that is small in size, has an HD screen, camera for facetime video chat, and then a dual core processor… my current desktop runs a quad core, meaning dual core is utmost important, camera I could live without… but then is the netbook going to be outdated in a year, am I going to have to buy more ram, can you build up the system (with more ram ect)?
The overall question is should I spend the money on a netbook and save 100 to 200 dollars, or get the amazing iPad two (to be completely honest this is an opinion topic, so if you could argue your opinion…. personally I’m leaning towards the iPad… that smart cover is legit! xD
Edit: I should also mention that the 10 Hour battery life of the iPad is extensively important! Four hours isn’t all that long and I will need use of this device (whether it be the iPad or a Netbook) for at least 10 hours a day. Most netbooks I’ve seen have a four hour battery life! Pathetic!
what is the best music/radio app for the iphone 4?
I’ve heard votes for Pandora and Tunein. Any weigh-ins? Why?
Thanks!
Whats the best car radio with an iphone 4 or ipad, seems like most are not compatible?
The iPhone and iPad is NOT compatible with all car radios becuase they require to be charging while playing music.
can anyone recommend a car radio that charges a iphone 4 while also allowing music and use of the interface.
the iPhone 4/iPad should be compatible with any car radio that supports an mp3 connection, as the headphone jacks are the same. Alternativly, if you have a car radio that doesn’t support an mp3 connection, if your radio has a cassette you can buy a cassette adaptor (a special cassette with a headphone jack on the end which you plug into your iPhone) or you can use a portable FM transmitter
How Often does radio shack get shipments of iphone 4?
i want to buy a iphone 4 and i dont want to order it because i know people that have been waiting for there iphone for 3 weeks and still have not got it and radio shack is the only one that i could buy the iphone in hand now im fourth on the waiting list so i just want to know how often do they get shipments
RadioShack stores get shipments in every week, but that doesn’t mean that they are going to have iPhones available. Like everyone else, RadioShack gets a limited supply of iPhones to sell nationwide and there is no guarantee that any store will be able to get them each week. Best of luck.
Will there be a smaller line at Apple, At&T, Best Buy or Radio Shack for the new iphone 4 next thursday?
Which store should I arrive a few hours early at the day of the iphone 4 release and in what order would you suggest?
None. While it’s said that each store will have a limited number of phones for walk-ins, you’d better be one of the first in line when the store opens. That’s probably going to mean a night in a lawnchair. Apple is the best bet.
How can I get the radio on my iPhone 4?
You get apps that do it form the App store. I like Pandora. and theres also iHeartRadio
