New iPhone 3GS introduced – Will Speed, flexibility and innovative GPS system make it a new hit?

New and faster iPhone 3GS

The same exteriors, but inside it is different. A new price model has been introduced as the basis model will cost USD 99 for the Americans.

Anti theft system is introduced on the new iPhone as well, which makes it easier to allocate and to stop misuse of your phone.

Over hundred new features were presented to the audience, and the new iPhone 3GS seems to deliver more to the users, it remains to see if it will strike a cord amongst the developers as well.
We look forward to see new applications that will take care of the upgrades offered to the users.

The yearly Apple developer’s conference had drawn a crowd as usual. As expected the Apple boss Phil Schiller could reveal a new and faster iPhone, called iPhone 3GS. It is supposed to be faster than the one available in the market now and the S stands for, yes you guessed it – Speed. The new cell phone will be able to download faster as well.

The iPhone 3GS will get HSDPA connection, which will make it faster on the turbo 3G network. With a new camera it will also get an upgrade with respect to megapixels as it will get 3 megapixels and will have autofocus functionality. The new model will also be able to edit and share video on the phone.

On the exterior it will be no changes, as all changes are under the hood so to speak. It will have a compass for automatic orientation of the map on the GPS and a possibility you lots of accessories to it as well that will make it more suitable for use in the car. It will now be able to connect to the car stereo via a Bluetooth or USB connection.

Apple will also make sure this model gets a new price model for the version with least memory. For the Americans the new basis model will cost 99 USD.

If you are one of those who always misplace your phone and wonder were it has gone? Well, what about unwanted snoozing into the content of your phone and try to call for your money? The new iPhone makes it possible to fix all of this from a Windows or Mac close by.

The cell phone can be located from a PC and pop up on a map for its location. It can be locked and notify the finder of the phone that it is missing and can be erased if the finder of the cell phone do not deliver it back. Locating the phone happens through the GPS in the cell phone and the alarm that alert that the phone is missing will be there regardless of the phone is on or off.

There are over hundred changes in the new iPhone 3GS and in addition the new operating system 3.0 will be in all iPhones from now on. But not all owners of iPhones will get this benefit as owner of phones older than 2 years will not be able to get MMS on their phones.

The upgrade is free for iPhone owners or for around 20 USD for the iPod Touch owners.

A new Mac was also presented during the venue were new Apple laptops were presented. A 13 inch screen model has been upgraded to become a member of the Pro serieand has got accessories like SD card reader and a better screen.

    Home Automation for Apartment?
I have a new project coming up where a client wants to get some home automation that can be controlled through ipad/iphone AND over the internet. Keep in Mind this is for a two bed-room apartment

    The functions needed are:
    1. Want to be able to control curtains in the apartment
    2. Want to be able to control the lights (dimm, turn on/off)
    3. Want to be able to control their A/V (want a receiver that will have a BOSE system with Surround Sound)

any suggestions on systems for this, please do not advise if you are not familiar with the products youre suggesting and do not have experience with installations

This would not be a simplistic endeavor for a home and will be more difficult and most likely not probable for an apartment. Here’ what it requires and some consideration of each item.

Internet access to a control system in not difficult. A control system processor ( we will discuss that later ) needs connectivity to the internet. This is easily done through a router. Port forwarding rules within the router will allow outside world access to the processor. It’s best to purchase a static IP address so you will always know your IP but I have found most ISP provided IP address’s do not change. I’ve had the same one for years. That’s the easy part.
Control system processors have ports that will offer IR, Relay, RS-232 and input sensing ports that will connect to devices to control them. For example, one would control a DVD player through a IR port that will emit the IR codes to perform function upon demand. So one must program the control system to actuate the correct port and command upon demand.
Controlling devices such as a TV or DVD than is rather simplistic. Unfortunately your quest to control high voltage motors such as drapes and lights require electronic-mechanical interface that would be problematic in a rented space.
To control drapes, one must use a low voltage relay in the control system processor that would in turn actuate an high external voltage relay that in turn would actuate a motor that in turn would raise or lower drapes.
To control lighting, one must have a controllable lighting system in place. In most cases such devices would connect via RS-232 for control. The control system processor would send a RS-232 command to the controllable dimmer system that in turn would raise or lower voltage to the light itself. And of course the lights must be able to dim.

So, is such a thing possible? Sure. Is it cost effective? That’s all relative to what your client is willing to spend. Is it probable an apartment owner would allow such a thing to be implemented? I’d think not.
Good luck. If you happen to be in Kansas City, my company ( Custom home control systems ) can help. http://www.chcs-kc.com

IPAD seems perfect in but I need these answers before I go buy one?
I live in a small room currently in japan, I love the room cause it is very modern in itself, just small but I have made it so everything I enjoy and have is in the room and I would say it looks rather large compared to many people that live in large houses. I dad flew over, engineer like me, enjoys projects and wanted to jump on this project to help me out, we layer the walls with selves the size with the width of my desk and as strong to hold up to well over 1000 pounds and, pretty much the room doubled in size, my desk, above my desk, feels like another desk but has all the equipment and larger displays, other half of the room, I decided to raise my bed 6 feet off the ground which practically makes the room look as if it were completely open, pure awesome. What I need help now is on the network of all the machines running in the room, I absolutely hate having a machine run independently and currently this little home of mine is causing some serious power, talking data center storage power bills and worth it right now to upgrade systems right away since it all goes toward power..

I am changing my story, forget the story and what I want done cause I won’t get any answers asking so much so here is 2 basic questions.

I would like to buy a IPAD, and a 26″ LCD monitor. since the IPAD has thought up everything I am sure this function exist, but I need to make sure. When I pick a movie or any media to watch I would like to transfer it wireless to the 26″ display, talking no wires here. (is this possible and what do I need) The display is going to need to be plugged into some device just like the VAIO laptop which is called (NETGEAR Push2TV Adapter for Intel® Wireless Display) connect this device to your display and push a button on the laptop and only very few laptops and instantly the media has now transferred over to the secondary display – is this possible with the IPAD cause if not wtf is wrong with them being a multitask piece of glass that is super automation without functions like this.

Second, I run a Yamaha AV Receiver using a creative DTS-610 to connect to the computer so the receiver receives a digital signal, I am going to have to plug this into the IPAD (correct or can I buy a module like the push 2 tv where it transmits the audio as well so I can just walk around in the room, ease of use in bed with the IPAD and control one simple thing media I want to watch, sounds simple right, will it work.

Clear up another question, on the desk side, the power hungry tower will be off throughout the day unless I use it to play a game, the laptop is what I will use and plug the 3 1.5TB external drives into it for all the media storage and where the IPAD will be receiving the data so I can push a button once I have the media and lay back and watch the show I am looking to watch. I am about to go and drive down to the apple store to ask this same very question so please help before I go wasting my time.

Why is my article being rejected by wikipedia?
My article is falling under the “speedy deletion” criteria (A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content). The article is actually about a company, has plenty of relevant sources and even has plenty of citations from high PR pages.
I even tried placing the {{hang on}} tag. then I wrote a dispute on the mytalk page, yet still within 60 seconds, the article is deleted.

    Can anyone help?

You can’t say “being the first to use this technology has granted them the award” – that doesn’t make sense. Clearly, *SME Advisor* granted them the award. So, that should read more like this: “Soon after their launch in 2010, SME Advisor granted Shifra their prestigious ‘Stars of Business’ Industry Achievement Award for construction and real estate, for being the first vendor to provide Z-Wave wireless technology to residential homes in the Middle East.”

Once you get that corrected, along with your overuse of Initial Caps Where They Don’t Belong, I’m sure Wikipedians will welcome your highly neutral and non-subjective encyclopedia article with open arms!

    Iphone 3GS?????????????????
hi,is the iphone 3GS available now?
    What is the price?
    Where to buy?

    • evilattorney says:

It was released in June. In the US, it’s only available new with a 2 year AT&T contract (at AT&T and Apple). The 16gb is $199 and the 32gb is $299.

iPhones without contracts are available on eBay. They are very expensive.

    • Michael Moloney says:

Yeah should def get the iphone 3gs, it has so many more useful features like a better camera (3mp) and can shoot video and it starts at 16gig which means less messing around with your itunes and so on.Couple that with the fact you can now send pics and video it must be worth getting.

    iPhone 3GS………………………………….?
I am considering buying the new iPhone 3GS. I’m a Verizon customer and was planning on just switching to AT&T. But, I keep hearing people say that the iPhone will be available for Verizon here in the next few years or so. Should I go ahead and get the iPhone with AT&T or wait it out until it hits Verizon stores?

Also, does anyone know if a new version of the iPhone is coming out anytime soon?

    • evilattorney says:

The iPhone is exclusive to AT&T until at least 2010 and probably longer. While there has been rampant speculation about a Verizon iPhone, there’s no substance to anything. Besides, an iPhone contract is only for 2 years.

The next iPhone is expected next summer.

    Iphone 3gs………………..?
Ok so my dad told me there is a cheaper iphone out so I’m wondering how good that quality would be.

Is the iphone 3gs the new cheaper iphone? And how good is the quality of it?

    • CIR says:

the Apple Iphone 3GS is the most advanced and powerful Iphone yet. The “S” stands for speed.Thats right, the new iphone will be faster than the original iphone 3G. It will not be cheaper. The 16gb Iphone 3gs will be 199.99 with a 2 year contract. The quality of the new iphone, will be excellent. A whole bunch of new features, that will make it a “need to get it” phone. Pre orders were being taken by apple and att stores. Visit your local att or apple store for more info on ordering your new iphone3GS.

    iPhone 3gs . . . . . . . ?
    Should I get it ?
How much is the price of it now ?
What about without a contract ?

If anyone has the iPhone 3gs, do you like it ?

    • crazychickx says:

Hiya yeah you should get the 3GS I’ve got one and it’s fab there is no signal problems like the iPhone 4 and you can also download the iso4 software for your 3GS for free

The 3GS is available on 02 Pay and Go for £389

As for the contract you can take out a 24 month contract with 02 and you would pay £35 a month for unlimited txts Internet and 600 mins and you don’t no to pay extra for the iPhone like you would with cheaper tariffs

On a 18 month contract you would pay £40 a month but you are getting the iPhone free

You can also add on insurance for an extra £15 a month which covers you for nearly everything keeping in mind the insurance excess with 02 has doubled do for your first insurance claim would be £50
      Your second would be £75
      Your third would be £100

      Hope I helped :D
