How can I wait patiently for one year for iPad 2G?
I’m too excited until the iPad second generation comes out next year (spring/autumn 2011)!! I don’t want to get the current one (first generation), I’m going to wait until improvements have been made and more features added (e.g. multitasking, camera, possibly flash etc.)
HOW CAN I BE PATIENT FOR A YEAR? THIS WAITING IS DRIVING ME CRAZY BECAUSE I’M WAY TOO EXCITED FOR THE 2ND GENERATION
My advice to you is to just think about how much better the iPad 2G will be than the iPad first.
I will not get the iPad yet. See, it seems like an okay product, but it has WAY too many flaws. Like a few things people have listed, the fact that it has no camera, no usb port…a lot more. Never, ever get something on it’s first generation. i am going to wait for maybe the 4th generation and maybe the flaws will be fixed my then.
The iPad, like people have said, is just a big iPod touch. But how is that a bad thing? The apps will be cooler, and there will be more functionality with the iPad, and differences with the iPod touch. It is not overpriced. Yes, it is expensive, but think of it. the lowest price is 499 dollars for an Apple computer. Really, that is not overpriced.
I am thinking of buying one, but do not buy the first generation. Right now, it has many flaws. For instance, not camera, no usb port (!), and a lot more that they will catch once people start to buy it. Definitely wait until at least the second generation until you buy the iPad.

Netbooks are totally worthless even if you get free. These are so choppy and sluggish that you cant work on it for long hours.
You gave some positives of iPad and then negatives but those negatives don’t exist :
No flash: You can run Netflix,Hulu,all the online video from Websites like Disney,ESPN,CBS,ABC,FOX NEWS,WHITEHOUSE.GOV and all others.
How is not having flash a drawback?
No external Drive: Cloud storage is future so it’s right time to get into habit of using it and iPad is perfect for that. It has apps like Dropbox,Box.net that integrates with other apps so, all the email attachment,songs,videos can be save to these apps with one tap.And you won’t be using any on device space. If you are going out of wi fi range,just bring selected item to device,after use send them back to cloud.On computer it’s complicated , but on iPad it’s as easy as playing iPod.

NETBOOKS:Performance doesn’t depend on the capacity only , it depends on ratio of load and capacity. iPad has less powerful processor but it’s doesn’t have load. It has iOS4 OS which is light but very functional. .Net books are actually nothing but cheap laptops they do not fall under new category because besides being cheap and sluggish they have nothing different from laptop. That’s the reason Netbooms failed miserably.
1million of ipads are selling every 27 days just in US which is incredible.
PC games sucks on Netbooks. I own Toshiba Satellite Netbook and iPad both so I am in position to give hands on experience.It’s just not possible to work on Netbooks.
Go to Bestbuy, play a movie via NETFLIX ON Netbook and iPad side by side, you will stark difference in video quality.iPad will blow any Netbook out of water.
Create a document on Netbook and then do the same thing on iPad and see which one is better and easier. I like iPad to the extent that I advice people if you have powerful Desktop then don’t get laptop,get iPad instead.
Netbook is good for even nerds.Nerds will go mostly for Notebooks but research says Harvard university’s Internet got clogged on the next day of iPad release. So you can imagine brightest brain are also in love with iPad.
And yes iPad is cool. A tailor in New York made fortune just by creating a big pocket inside of suit to fit iPad.He is not taking any order now because he is booked till end of 2011.
It always happens to premium product like Armani , Apple,American Eagle people who don’t use them start criticizing but the actual users are so happy.

What’s a good laptop?
Alright, so I am almost 13 years old and was decieding between either a laptop or to wait for the ipad 2. I have decided to choose the laptop due to various reason. Including flash, DVD player, movie maker, ect. I wanted an apple but since I am only in the 7th grade, i figure i shouldn’t go for that just yet. maybe for high school. but if I’m looking for a laptop that has a webcam, dvd player, preferably available at Best Buy, Target, or any well-known stores. So, which laptop do you recommend?
Any ideas on these?

There have been updates recently. I would recomend hooking upto iTunes once a week, not just to get any updates but to sync and backup your iPad data.

iPad: Can the iPad update its OS without having a computer to download and interface for it?
I have the iTouch. When a new OS comes out, it is downloaded via the iTunes program and uploaded into the iTouch via the iTunes program. It does not to my knowledge have the ability to upgrade its own OS.
Is the iPad also dependent on a “mother” computer and iTunes on that computer to update its OS?
Yep, iPad is tethered to iTunes right now just like the other iDevices. BUT rumors abound that in a future iOS update Apple is looking to make the iOS incrementally update like other mobile devices, so instead of installing the entire iOS again you only download the updated files and can do that over wifi or 3G. It has to do with (I think) some cloud-based services going live, so it’s not possible right now, may not be possible for several more iOS versions.
Is there going to be Microsoft updates onto the new iPad?! And will it be good for college use?
I would love to know if colleges would like to join in one this because carrying huge texts books across campus is not fun just wanted to know anything new about it before purchase!! Thanks!
The iPad is not good for textbooks. The screen is not designed for reading. You better go for the Kindle as it has much better textbook support.
