How to get home sharing to work on your iPad 1?
I have the current itunes download and the new updated software but when I go to the setting to use home sharing on the iPad the option is not there. I have the computer on and home sharing on in itunes. What am I doing wrong?
It said with the new update you could do itunes sharing on the ipad.

ipad to PC home sharing problems. Nothing happens!?
i have the first gen ipad and a pc running on windows 7. I have set up every home sharing check point that is asked to be set up through the itunes walk through. i have gone through my PC’s firewall and allowed all the right ports that itunes uses. i have even turned off my firewall for awhile. after doing everything nothing happens! i check my ipod app and theres no selection for which library to use. In my itunes on my pc my ipad does not show up in my sharing. After i do everything that is required to turn on home sharing it seems like nothing at all happened. There’s nothing to show that its working at all. yes i am on the same network on both PC and ipad. what am i missing!?!

Can I stream media between iOS devices?
OK, iTunes Home Sharing is wicked – I’m using it right now to listen to my iTunes library through my iPod Touch docked in the stereo on the other side of the room. That’s cool, but that screen is hardly good enough to watch films on.
My iPod Touch has a far greater memory than my iPad so I choose to store my videos and media on that. But is it possible (or will it be possible?) to stream content from my iPod to another iDevice, such as my iPad, in a similar way to Home Sharing?
I mean, this is only a relatively rare time that I’m actually using the PC now, as my iPad is managing to replace it quite nicely, and with the new features of iOS 5 coming where we can supposedly cut the chord and forget about ever needing a PC again, I would love to be able to use such a feature as AirPlay Home Sharing among iDevices, and also to show things to other iOS users, can this be done? Will it ever be possible?
It’s fine streaming from iTunes on the PC, but I don’t wish to keep the PC switched on all the time ‘just in case’, hence why Mr iPod is fully loaded and not draining too much electricity while he waits. Apple TV just doesn’t seem necessary or feature rich enough to warrant the price for it at the moment, plus I want to specifically be able to stream to other iOS devices – an Apple TV isn’t always around when this feature is needed.
Tell me there’s a way, somehow. An app that enables AirPlay Mirroring between iOS devices maybe? Or an app that is specific to music and video streaming between devices? I don’t like relying on my PC and clogging up my iDevices’ memory for one-off viewing when the goods are already pre-loaded onto one device anyway. Is it out there? Will it ever be out there? Any developer friends want to make it and send it on over to me?

Can you buy iTunes content and download it again on a different device if they share the same iTunes account?
For example my dad bought an album on his iPad and I want to download it on my iPhone. However we are not at home so I can’t transfer it through the computer. If my dad has purchased it and both are devices are linked to the same account can I go ahead and download it free of charge?

    • Ronin says:

Apps yes, Movies and Music No. Simple answer I know but what else could I say? You will just need to sync the iPad to the PC then sync your iPhone to that PC to transfer the content.
