Re: iPad 3G unlock
The Spirit is a tool to jailbreak the newly released without interruption MuscleNerd developed by iPhone Dev Team, who canhackall iDevice Apple iPhone OS running on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3 and 3.2. These devices, including 1G/2G/3G iPod touch, iPhone and iPad 2G/3G/3GS WiFi / WLAN 3 G. I don’t know thestepsbut you can use this for unlocking your IPAD 3G. An advantage of the Spirit is self jailbreak function. Previously, onmobiledevices jailbroken jailbreak by tools like redsn0w, sn0wbreeze, PwnageTool, BlackRa1n, ultrasn0w and blacksn0w A “Connect to iTunes” will be displayed and users need to connect to the computer each time you restart or reboot, the jailbreak is based on the method of jailbreak attached.

Re: iPad 3G unlock
With Spirit, the connection to a PC or Mac is unnecessary, allowing users to reboot or restart the iPhone, iPod touch or at any time iPad anywhere. I started to really believe that this worldwide release of the iPhone will forever be engraved in the history books. It’s completely crazy all this is happening just around a CELL PHONE: weblog dedicated, dedicated magazine, Team of hacker unlocked, Apps third, unlocked. It’s clear I do not understand everything cinema. For most it was a version 1.0.2 de-simlocker super stable, the itunes wifi store we could not care less.

Re: iPad 3G unlock
Spirit can not unlock iPhone or hactivate (IPAD carrier is not locked). For iPhone users who want to maintain and preserve the unlock, do not have an iPhone OS 3.1.3, and making level baseband unlock new reset :
ActivateiPhone if it is not yet enabled (not enabled s it is “Connect to iTunes” screen in DFU mode, or can not make emergency calls.
Backup blobs sh
If your iPhone or iPad touch is still running on firmware OS older than 3.1.2 or 3.1.3, or has been jailbroken, download and update or restore iPhone OS 3.1.2 (Unlock possible) or OS 3.1.3 iPhone firmware (Unlock not possible).
Download Spirit Jailbreak forWindowsor Mac OS X.
Connect iPhone, iPod touch or iPad (IPAD WiFi or 3G + WiFi iPad) to the computer.
Jailbreak Spirit Run.
ClickJailbreak, and wait for Spirit to complete the process of jailbreak.
When the jailbreak process is completed, a jailbreak “Complete” message is displayed and the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad will automatically restart. Click on the Exit button to exit the Spirit. The iPhone, iPod touch or iPad not Jailbreaked, and Cydia will be added to the list of app.

Re: iPad 3G unlock
Spirit can also be used in the iPhone 3G, 3G, iPod Touch and obviously in the IPAD, including 3G models, although it warns users to make a backup of the system to be able to back up the fimrware. This new software allows access to repositories of third parties as Cydia, unlocking of features but not allowed to be released with this tool for use with 3G models. The following are some features of Spirit :
It’s a jailbreak for IPAD untethered, iPhone and iPod Touch with latest firmware.
There is asolutionto unlock the mobile service provider.
If you currently are using any tethered jailbreak will be restored to use Spirit. Do not update if you are using a solution of unlocking a 3G iPhone or 3G and you can only go back if we keep his SHSH.

    My new iPad 2 3g … GPS & other questions …?
    I have an iPad 2 {3g verizon}, can I …?
I have an iPad 2 3g I purchased, it is a ‘verizon’ iPad but I don’t have the plan on it … .

Is the GPS feature still fully active on it or do I need the verizon plan?

I have my iPad tethered to my iPhone so I don’t need a data plan from verizon, but since I have the 3g iPad, are there any other benefits to using the 3g iPad without a data plan?
    @KairuSS/RS

I got this one because that is ALL that was there, sat in line for couple hours and they said at target “all we have are the black verizon ipad 2′s’.

& to answer your question about money, my college days are long gone, a measly $150 is nothing to me, for how great this device is and how much it helps with work, it would have been worth 1500 for what I get out of it !

OK the GPS is built in full time, but Google Maps require a connection to get the map of the area you are in, or looking at.
You could buy a gps program from the app store that works “offline” but I have not found any cheap all inclusive maps of the whole country.

I guess verizon plans start at 20 bucks for 1 gig of data, which is plenty if you do all your program installs at home.

if you buy an ipad with 3g capability does gps free of charge?
im wondering if you buy an ipad with 3g capability can you use the gps on it free of charge ? without even activating the 3g internet on it

Does iPad GPS work without Sim card?
    Hi,

I was wondering if I got an ipad wifi+3g; and I removed the Sim card, will I still be able to use the GPS without the Sim card.

Note that I’m in middle east.

    • scudstrike says:

GPS has no relationship with the SIM card. It should work fine…however. If you’re using google maps, then it needs a internet connection to keep updating the maps. If it’s a navigation app like TomTom, then you can work the nav without a sim.

      Hpe I’ve helped

Do you need a data plan for the iPad 3G to use the GPS software on it?
    Hi there,

I was wondering that if I buy an iPad 3G without a data plan, could I still use the GPS software that Apple has put on it? Or does it rely on the 3G network?

Just thinking that the iPad might make a useful GPS kit as well as an additional device for the home.

    Thanks very much
Also – saying you don’t need a 3G data plan to use the GPS – would the GPS be faster if you had a 3G data plan?

    • rafaelous says:

There’s 2 types of GPS. Real GPS like the iPhone and assisted GPS. Neither iPad has the real GPS. The 3G version however has assisted GPS which works by using cell towers. Because of the way it works you would need a SIM card in, and I would suspect but I cannot be certain, a plan too. If that’s all you wanted it for, have a look at T-mobiles plans that have only EDGE.

How good is the GPS on iPad 2 3G?
I’m buying and iPad 2 3G soon, and I’m only buying this for the GPS (I mean, instead of the wifi version) and I’m not planning to use the 3G service at all, so if anyone tried, how good is the GPS working without using any 3G services? Is it good and strong enough or I should go with the wifi

    • Cameron Vahe says:

I have an iPad 2 3G, and I love the GPS. It smoothly tracks the iPad and is very strong both with and without the 3G. Anyways, the iPad isn’t the best choice if you are going to use it ONLY for gps…
