Is the iPad capable of creating and editing microsoft word documents?
I am a student so my main computer is up at my university house. I am looking for something that i can take home easily and use on the go just for general facebook and internet use however in case i ever needed to do some work at home i was just wondering if an iPad can make microsoft word documents that can be edited and then put back on my main pc computer?

Yes. You can get iWork for the iPad. Each of the three iWork applications are $10, and each are compatible with documents of their Microsoft Office equivalents:
Pages = Word
Numbers = Excel
Keynote = Power Point
