    Black vs White iPad 2?
I know this question has been asked a lot on here but I am going to ask it again, haha. I am nervous if I get the iPad 2 in white it will be distracting when I watch movies or on the web. I will be using the iPad mostly to watch movie and read books on it. I would get it in black however I have a $400 Apple Gift card I want to use and at the Apple store in my town they only have white iPad’s. If I got a white iPad would it be distracting? I could always wait till they get more black iPad’s. Let me know. Thanks in advance.

Real quick poll; black or white iPad?
Which looks better w/ the pink smartcover? I’m going to the mall in like, an hr to get one but idk which color. I tihnk I should get white cuz i already have the first ipad + its black
@Martinez yeah i know i did ask this question before but i deleted it by mistake

white would look best with pink, but it would show dirt real easy, but if people see you with the white, they’ll know it’s the 2nd gen since the 1st doesn’t come in white, so get white if you want braggin rights i guess. but black won’t show dirt, and it’ll appear to be shinier, but fingerprints will be easily seen, although you could just rub it off and the fingerprints will just disappear. but if you already have the black 1st ipad then you might want something different

Should u get the white or black iPad?
Hi should I get the white or black iPad because my mom got this $65 coupon at best buy and shes returning my black one. Should I get the white one or should I stick with the black one?

white will show dirt more than the black.

but black will show scratches more than the white.

its up to you. But since you already have the black iPad i would just stick with it.

Should I get the black iPad or white?
Hi should I get the white or the black iPad?The white iPad shows no dirt and and no finger prints because my friend has the white one and has had it for a couple of months now. I’ve searched iPad 2 unboxings and like 80% of them were white. Should I get the white one or should I stick with the black one?

Which do you prefer – White or Black iPad 2?
Im getting an iPad 2. I cant decide between the white or the black version. My problem is which bezel will make the screen image look “better”.

    Black bezel
Pros = Will make the on screen whites look whiter
Cons = Will make blacks look gray.

    White
Pros – will make the on screen blacks look *much* blacker
Cons – will make whites look very gray.

This is because the bezel will either be the darkest or lightest area of the screen so your brain will be tricked into seeing the on screen blacks and whites either darker or lighter than they actually are.

I don’t care about the white bezel being harder to clean or paling out in time or the black one showing up scratches more easily, Im mainly concerned about the image on display. Before you answer please take a look at the black and white iPad 2 images and judging the screen images. The black bezel makes the colors stand out more and the white screen looks dimmer even though they are exactly the same.

Im leaning more towards the white as for me, darker blacks are more important than whiter whites but I cant help notice the colors look washed/dimmer on the white iPad 2.

    Many thanks!!!
Please look at this screen (there are better examples out there and ideally look at separate black/white images).

The white bezel display looks dimmer but more natural. The black bezel looks like it has much higher contrast, brighter colors and there is some loss of detail (look at the black/ white transition from the background). I know the images are at an angle so the effect is exagerated but using either the example above or others which do you prefer. I know the iPad screen is bright enough and I prefer a more natural image. I think the the problem is the black bezel actually exagerates and already bright IPS LCD screen whereas the white bezel tones the brightnes effect somewhat and allows you to see better black/white contrast and thus more detail. The ‘dimming’ effect is an optical illusion. At least thats what Im thinking.

    Please share your opinions!

Ok, I guess a black screen will make movies look a bit better as the black widescreen borders on the display will merge with the bezel whereas on a white screen you have the movie, surounded by black up/down bars, surrounded by a big white bezel. white still looks cooler though as every single other Apple and non-Apple tablet is black. Anyone seeing you with a white tablet will know you have an iPad 2. Im guess seeing white as being justified by its cool factor and black more by its practical uses.

I think the white looks more colorful, but it looks weird when the display is turned off, because you had this black rectangle area with a white border around it. The black is also better because the camera isnt visible and the volume rocker, side switch and lock button are the same colour as the iPad. I think you should get the black iPad. Enjoy your new iPad.
