MacBook Pro 15″ or iMac 21.5″?
So I’ve been using Windows laptops all my life, and I have some Mac experience (enough for me to feel comfortable using the latest version of Mac OS X). My Windows laptop (specs below) just broke, I’ve reformatted the drives, re-installed Windows (clean install) and it is still slow. I’m fed up of Windows, and I’ve decided to switch to Mac. I recently bought an iPad with and Apple Wireless keyboard which (because my laptop is so friggin’slow) I am currently using for schoolwork as well as other “iPad things” (like gaming on the iPad, etc.). I Iam wondering whether to get a MacBook Pro (15″ 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB Serial ATA hard drive, 8x SuperDrive, iSight Camera, Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M/256MB SDRAM DDR3, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, all other standard MacBook Pro features) or the high-end 21.5 inch iMac (3.2GHz Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, 8x SuperDrive, ATI Radeon HD 5670 with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, iSight Camera, other stancdard iMac features). I would like the MacBook Pro because it’s portable, and I love the backlit keyboard, because I work late at night and it would come in handy, but it is more expensive than the iMac. I have an iPad which I could take to school to do work etc., and it would do everything I need at school,, just it is lighter than a MacBook Pro. What would you say?
Get the MBP. Period
Help- Which of these 2 computers is a better trade for my iPad 64GB 3G?
I have a recently purchased iPad 64gb 3G with AppleCare. I’ve been offered a 13.3″ Macbook G5 2ghz 250gb with AppleCare till 2011 that was bought in Dec2009. Also have an offer of a Power Mac G5 dual 2.0/2.5 160gb that the guy will add an air card and kick in cash for a display. I would prefer a laptop, but could go either way. Am concerned about the age of the Power Mac, and concerned about the battery life of the Macbook. Which in your opinion is the better trade?
Oh god get the macbook air are you crazy!!!? they may make humming sounds but they are great
15″ inch Sandy Bridge Macbook Pro or iPad 2 ?
Which one should I go with ??? do not mention PC Laptop…
15″ inch: 2.2GHz Quad-Core i7 Macbook Pro
or
iPad 2
Primary Use: College Classes, typing papers, gaming, Video/Photo Editing, presentations, movies/music etc…
Why does the iPad from Apple suck?
Seriously, I looked at this pile of crap recently, and all I could do was get angry at Apple. What were they thinking? Did they just tape 4 iPod touches together to come up with this? It’s the exact same but for a giant. It’s very uncreative, and an insult to technology.
iPad’s spec’s: 1ghz CPU, 16 – 64 GB HDD, 9.7inch XGA screen, Mono sound, no USB’s no SD slots, no PC card, not even a damned headphone jack!
HP TC 1100′s spec’s (made 7 years ago as a similar touch screen device like iPad)
1.2ghz CPU, 40 – 80GB HDD, 10.4inch XGA screen, stereo sound, 2 USB’s, 2 SD slots, 1 PC Card, an RJ45, RJ11, VGA video output and the god-damned headphone jack too
the HP TC 1100 from 7 f*cking years ago beats this piece of crap iPad, and no doubt a fraction of it’s price nowadays, and Apple seriously expect it’s fanbase to buy into iPad?
iPad? More like iBad.
Bon-gart, it’s still a question; Let me clarify, I asked why it’s sucking like it is, and explained where it fails, the question is, why the hell are they doing this failed marketing.
So, you ask a question in the title, then proceed to answer it in your details.
Why are you posting, other than to rant? You are not posting a question that you need solved.
No, I’m not defending the iPad… I think it is a waste of money too, but I’m not about to violate the community guidelines and risk getting MY Yahoo account suspended, just to rant about it. They make blogs for people like you who need a place to rant.
Seriously.
end of line
Should I get the iPad 2?
I’ve got a 2006 Macbook right now (the 2GHz one) It’s slower than a b*tch at times, and frustrates me to no end. A friend brought up the idea of selling my macbook and putting it toward an iPad while buying a bluetooth keyboard/mouse.
I would shell for a Macbook pro/new Macbook, but I’m a college student on a tight budget.
Thoughts?
EDIT: I use Garageband/Logic as well as iMovie and hearing about their port over to the iPad is interesting. Anybody have any experience with either?
What accessories do you recommend for the iPad 2?
I got the smart cover, an attachable keyboard case, and a carrying bag so far.
I am still looking for a dock, ect.
If there’s anything really cool and exciting, leave an answer!
Thanks!
Don’t forget iPad speakers for watching movies or listening to the radio
And don’t forget about a cute stylus for your iPad. The link I provided is to a pink pen but you can get any color.
Best and Cheap Accessories for my iPad 2?
I just got my iPad 2 and I want to know the best accessories, such as the screen protector, case, stylus, etc. However, I don’t want to spend a lot.
Netbook vs. the new iPad 2?
Hi there. I’m a huge Apple fan, but I have some friends who have said that getting a netbook would be a much greater choice then spending near 600$ on an iPad (with accessories).
Currently I’m aware of there being netbooks priced from $200 to $400. The problem is weather or not it would be genuinely better… Meaning, is it possible to get a netbook that is small in size, has an HD screen, camera for facetime video chat, and then a dual core processor… my current desktop runs a quad core, meaning dual core is utmost important, camera I could live without… but then is the netbook going to be outdated in a year, am I going to have to buy more ram, can you build up the system (with more ram ect)?
The overall question is should I spend the money on a netbook and save 100 to 200 dollars, or get the amazing iPad two (to be completely honest this is an opinion topic, so if you could argue your opinion…. personally I’m leaning towards the iPad… that smart cover is legit! xD
Edit: I should also mention that the 10 Hour battery life of the iPad is extensively important! Four hours isn’t all that long and I will need use of this device (whether it be the iPad or a Netbook) for at least 10 hours a day. Most netbooks I’ve seen have a four hour battery life! Pathetic!
Apple iPad 2 boasts of being faster, lighter and thinner than the original iPad. It is armed with two cameras – one at front and the other one at rear. The presence of a front camera does hint at video calling facility which is yet another reason why you need to look forward to buy this device. The new iPad sports a LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology and fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating like the one used in iPhone 4. Even though there were some rumors about Apple iPad 2 screen being cut down to 7 inches, the company seems to have preferred to stick to 9.7 inch screen.
Which iPad accessory bundle should I buy! 10 points !?

I barely have enough for an iPad, but would need to buy a case and screen protector for sure…Which one should I get, also, I would love a stylus, screen protector, flip case with stands…I already have 1 set of earphones but I like the idea of the earphone splitter accessory..

I just noticed none ship to Canada
Guess I can’t get them.
Thanks anyway guys!
1# you get more for your money, the others only give you 11 pieces.
What do you think abouth this iPad 2 cases?
http://www.tomerep.com/computers/ipad-accessories/cases/slim-black-leather-case-smart-cover-for-apple-ipad-2.html
Not bad. It seems to resemble the iPad 2 smart cover, but it protects the back as well. A friend has an ipad and that cover for her ipad. Hers is pretty flimsy though and has trouble standing up. Be careful if you are getting that, check it’s resistance first.
